Insurance Officer at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency

Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion kronor each year. It is everyone's tax money that we manage. It is a great responsibility. Therefore, we thoroughly examine each case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show compassion. This is a job for you who want to take responsibility. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

Case Management, Customer Contact, and Decision-Making

As an insurance officer, you have an important mission: to help citizens so that the right person receives the right compensation at the right time. You provide individuals with the means to have an overview and feel secure in all contacts with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Each individual has a unique situation that needs to be addressed based on their specific needs. In your work, you are responsible for conducting investigations based on applicable regulations. You calculate and, where applicable, make decisions regarding compensation. The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high level of security awareness.

You will have daily contact with applicants and insured individuals in writing and by phone. Part of your work involves answering incoming calls where you identify needs and provide general and specific information. Your work also includes informing and providing support in our self-service services.

When working with maintenance support, you encounter situations where children live with only one parent, and the other parent must pay maintenance support. You assist the parents in managing the maintenance themselves, but if that does not work, the child may be entitled to maintenance support. You are the case manager for both parties, and you inform and guide them both in a life situation that can be difficult and complex. In your work, you will come into contact with other actors in society who handle issues related to children, housing, and financial conditions.

This is a job for you who want to take responsibility.
